Your Foot Health Practitioner – Nicola Ruddick

I am a fully qualified Foot Health Practitioner.   I trained at the SMAE Institute in Maidenhead.  The letters after my name show that I am a Member of the Open College of Foot Health Professionals (MCFHP) and a Member of the British Association of Foot Health Professionals (MAFHP).

To ensure that I keep up to date with the foot health profession and any changes or developments within the industry I pursue different Continuing Professional Development (CPD) topics annually. For example, in December I am attending a Common Foot Conditions CPD course at the SMAE Institute, which I am looking forward to greatly.    

You are in safe hands (or should I say feet!) when you ask me to look after your feet as I am fully insured (through the SMAE Institute) and am fully DBS checked (previously known as a CRB checked).

Every set of instruments I use for your foot care has been sterilised using the following procedure:

  • Instruments are hand rinsed, dried and sterilised in an autoclave
  • Autoclaving  guarantees maximum sterilisation

I live in Freeland, near Witney with my husband and two sons.  We moved to the area from Biggin Hill in Kent back in 2019, to be closer to family.  I have been practicing for about 13 years (in and around Biggin Hill to start off with) and now around West Oxfordshire, mixing both home visits (treating people in the comfort of their own homes), and seeing patients in the ‘Foot Room’ at Summertown Clinic on a Monday morning and Friday.

Follow Up Appointment:

The initial treatment is more in-depth and therefore longer than follow up appointments as it includes a medical history check, a neuro-vascular assessment (especially important for the diabetic or the high risk foot) and then your foot maintenance.

Appointments will last for approximately 45 minutes. The initial treatment may last about an hour.

To maintain good foot health, follow up appointments are recommended every 4 to 6 weeks (more frequently if you are having your verrucas treated).

All treatments are carried out in the convenience and comfort of your own home.

Prices are based on home visits within 10 miles of Freeland. Home visits outside of this area are possible, but there may be an additional cost involved – please contact me for further information.

Cancellation fees may be charged if appointments are cancelled at short notice. Please do get in touch as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment.
