I have recently been doing some home study (through the SMAE Institute where I initially trained 13 years ago), about Tissue Viability and Wound Management. As a Foot Health Practitioner, if I did come across a patient with an ulcer, or a chronic / acute wound, I would need to refer on to a Podiatrist, or a GP, but the course was still extremely interesting, as it taught me many things including how our bodies heal wounds, different factors affecting how our bodies repair tissue (or said wounds), how to assess these wounds, the different classification of wounds (and the pros and cons of each), how different vascular and neurological factors influence wounds, and lastly wounds and the at risk foot. The course finished with a multiple choice exam, which I am proud to say I passed (only getting 2 questions wrong).

Initial Treatment:
£55
Follow Up Appointment:
£45
The initial treatment is more in-depth and therefore longer than follow up appointments as it includes a medical history check, a neuro-vascular assessment (especially important for the diabetic or the high risk foot) and then your foot maintenance.
Appointments will last for approximately 45 minutes. The initial treatment may last about an hour.
To maintain good foot health, follow up appointments are recommended every 4 to 6 weeks (more frequently if you are having your verrucas treated).
All treatments are carried out in the convenience and comfort of your own home.
Prices are based on home visits within 10 miles of Freeland. Home visits outside of this area are possible, but there may be an additional cost involved – please contact me for further information.
Cancellation fees may be charged if appointments are cancelled at short notice. Please do get in touch as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment.
